I've been sick.  I have been complaining to anyone that would listen for the past two weeks about going to sleep with a pressure headache.  Turns out, I have had a sinus infection.  Getting rid of a sinus infection is gross; nothing one should share with others.  This is a private sickness that you should walk through alone.
Gross things are exiting your body in ways I have never experienced or thought was possible.  I am hoping I have reached the end of this illness.

Happy Birthday Amelia!

Dear People Who Visit My Site,
Today is a very special day, my baby girl Amelia turns 1 year old today.  I am amazed at how much I love her, she is absolutely a terror but she's mine and I am so grateful!  In celebration of Amelia's 1st Birthday, I have created a Top 10 List of Traits I Learned About Her:
1) She's a watch dog!  She will bark at you, there is no two ways about it but she will do it with her tail wagging.
2) She loves the car!  She spent 1 month on the road with me and loved every minute of it.
3) She's a loner.  Unless she really, truly loves you; she will pop out of her room to say hi/check you out and then head straight back to be with herself.
4) She's expensive.  Rare diseases, loves to puke, you name it, she's got, done it and cost me a fortune. (She's lucky I love her so much!)
5) She loves to hump my sister's dog Matty!  I mean every visit, she will hump him.  Poor thing, he just sits there and takes it too!
6) When she wakes up in the morning, she loves to cuddle and give kisses.  It's the sweetest thing in the world and it's the only time when she's like that.
7) My right arm is her favorite chew toy!
8) She has a boyfriend, it's a stuffed bull/longhorn and she won't go anywhere without it!
9) She makes sweet, girly noises when she yawns!  It's so adorable I wish I did it!
10) She & I are a perfect match.

Thanks for reading, I know it's a lot for a dog but this past year has been hard and full of change and my one constant has been Amelia.  I am also getting her a hot pink cake and she will eat it tonight.  I don't care what you think of me too!
XOXO,
Alexandra & Amelia

The National, House of Blues Dallas

So, I am kind of bummed and relieved at the same time.  My sister's birthday was October 4th and her party is October 9th, the same night The National is playing here in Dallas at the House of Blues.  I have such a small social life, why does double booking have to exist?  I sold the tickets, which is the relieved part but I really wanted to go!  I love The National, they are so moody and cool.  I believe Matt Beringer (the lead singer) to be very handsome.  In some parallel universe, we are a scorching couple that lives in Paris and makes love all day, drinking wine, eating cheese, having friends over and listening to cool vinyl records.  He writes music, I write novels and we include each other in our work with inside words and moments.  Unfortunately in this universe, he is married, probably to some naturally beautiful woman that can eat what she wants and doesn't gain a pound and is witty and charming and the worst of the worst, really nice.  Sigh......

So sad, It's 2010 PEOPLE!

This just breaks my heart:
DA to investigate suicide of bullied Texas teen

To Anyone Being Bullied;
I promise, it will get better, suicide is not the answer.  The path less traveled is sometimes a tough one but believe me, the characters and experiences far surpass momentary lapses in reason.  Stay strong and remember, kids/adults who pick on someone are the truly sad and insecure ones!  Don't give your power away and let other people define you.  Tell your parents, tell a trusted adult, teacher, anyone.  Do not let bully's ruin your life and define a period of time that is supposed to be memorable. Stay strong and believe in yourself!
XOXO,
Alexandra
